As a passenger, you are only required to enter your name and certificate number (ticket number or PNR code) and to select the departure city on Hainan Airlines’ official website. Similar to the traditional boarding pass, it includes information such as the passenger’s name, departure and arrival airports, flight number, date, boarding time, boarding gate and booking class. A: Only three steps. 1. Select the segment; 2. Select the seat; 3. Print the boarding pass on A4-sized paper (you can go through the formalities for airport security and boarding by showing your printed boarding pass).
2、Is there any difference between online check-in formalities and airport check-in formalities?
A:The online check-in formalities shall be handled on your own. In other words, you select the seat you would like and print your boarding pass on A4-sized paper.
B: The boarding pass printed on A4-sized paper can be used instead of traditional boarding pass when you go through the formalities for airport security and boarding at most airports.
C:The online check-in service is available from 14:00 for flights departing on the following day, but the airport check-in service is available for flights departing on the same day.

3、 What passengers are eligible for the online check-in service?
A: Adults and children. To clarify, adults refer to those ordinary adults, excluding the adults with children, elderly passengers, army, police and disabled passengers, stretcher passengers, VIP passengers and pregnant passengers, and other special passengers. Children are only limited to those accompanied by adults.
4、What flights are eligible for the online check-in service?
A: Passengers with electronic air tickets with seat reserved of flights operated by HU, CN and GS (ticket number starting with 880-, 826- or 895-) are eligible for the online check-in service. Co-sharing flights operated by other carriers (e.g. the flight number is prefixed by *, like *HU7527) are excluded from this service.
B: Please note that the sector chosen for your online check-in should be the first open sector of your reservation. The status of its next sector should NOT be checked in, boarded or used/flown.

A:Online check-in service applies to E-ticket of all classes, EXCEPT:
1) The special class of transfer ticket (Class V);

7、If I’m to check some luggage, can I go through the online check-in formalities?
A: After you complete the online check-in formalities, you can check your luggage at the airport counter by showing your ID certificate involved in your purchase of air ticket. Your luggage must be checked and must comply with the related airline safety regulations.
8、Can I use the online check-in service as soon I’ve purchased my ticket?
A: No, you can only use such a service once the related flight is accessible at the airport. The service is usually available from 14:00 for flights departing on the following day. For information about the specific time at each airport, please refer to the time as published on the webpage of “Cities with Available Service”.
9、Can I use the online check-in service on behalf of my friend?
A: Yes. If your friend and you booked air tickets on the same flight, you’re allowed to use the online check-in service on behalf of three passengers (including yourself). You may select a seat next to your friend.
10、Can I use the online check-in service if I’m travelling with children?
A; Yes, but you have got to use the online check-in service separately for adult and children. If child has not used the certificate number in booking process, you are advised to use such service via ticket number or PNR code.
11、Why is the online check-in service unavailable after I enter my passport number?
A: If you hold a domestic air ticket and enter the passport number during your registration of certificate number, you must select “Identity Card No.” under “ID Type”, and then enter your passport number.
12、Can I use the online check-in service if I’ve bought the electronic air ticket from other source than Hainan Airlines’ official website? If possible, please describe.
A: Yes, you can. You must enter the passenger name and certificate number (ticket number or PNR code) on the online check-in webpage, select the departure city and then operate according to the website information.
13、If a passenger has used the online check-in service, when shall they be able to go through the formalities for the airport safety check?
A: You are required to complete the formalities for airport safety check 30 minutes before your flight’s original departure hour, and to board the plane 15 minutes in advance. If you fail to board the plane on schedule, the flight will take off without you as to not inconvenience other passengers.
14、If I can’t print the boarding pass at home or realise my printed boarding pass is missing, what shall I do?
A:You can have the boarding pass printed at HU’s duty manager counter by showing your valid ID certificate, or printed with the airport’s self-service equipment.
15、What type of paper is suitable for printing the boarding pass?
A: Ordinary A4-sized paper is acceptable.
16、Why can’t the boarding pass be printed?
A: There may be something wrong with your computer browser, network or printer. If still experiencing trouble, please complete all of the check-in formalities online. Then, you can have your boarding pass printed at HU’s counter by showing your valid ID certificate, or printed with the airport’s self-service equipment.
17、Where can I collect an e-ticket itinerary note as a payment reciept?
A: Please ask for the itinerary note at the ticket point if you get your ticket from an agent. Or ask for the itinerary note directly at HU’s ticket counter (such an itinerary note can be printed only once, and is not allowed to be re-printed seven days after the flight takes off.) if you get the ticket from Hainan Airlines’ official website.
18、If I needn’t check any luggage, can I go through the formalities for airport safety check and boarding by showing my printed boarding card?
A: Yes, you can go through the formalities for airport safety check by showing your ID certificate, which you have registered during the purchase of ticket, and your boarding pass printed on A4-sized paper. However, before you go through such formalities, you are advised to check with HU’s duty manager counter if there is any change with the boarding gate, or after you go through such formalities, you can watch the dynamic display system within the isolated area.
19、If I fail to use the online check-in service, what shall I do?
A: Please go through the manual check-in formalities with the check-in counter or self-service equipment at the departure airport by showing your ID certificate, which you have registered during the purchase of ticket.
20、In case of any change in my itinerary, how can I cancel the check-in formalities? Are there any restrictive conditions?
A: You are advised to enter Hainan Airlines’ official website to search for the “record for going through check-in formalities” and then click the button “cancel the check-in formalities”. One ticket can be cancelled only once, so please take care when choosing this option.
